Openings are areas of your floor plan such as a two-story property with high or cathedral ceilings or mezzanines, these open spaces can show on the second floor’s plan. These “open spaces” are not taken into account in the total square footage of the second floor, so we have created a function that allows our team to add ‘’Openings’' to your floor plan. Any areas determined as “Openings” will not be considered in the total square footage count of the second floor.
To do so, you need to select an ''Opening'' type of item.
Adding and changing the total square footage per floor.
In the right menu, in the floor plan section, you will see an Outside Area and Inside Area option. The Outside Area includes exterior walls in the calculation, while the Inside Area excludes exterior walls. If you click on the calculator icon, the system will add all the measurements on the floor. If some of the floors don’t need to be added to the calculate, you can click on the green L sign to remove it and re-click on the calculator.
Don't forget to calculate the total square footage for each floor of the property.
If you want to add your own square footage number to the floorplan, you can write it in the field and press Enter.
